Dear Parents and Students of Greenville and Seely Place:
We are happy to announce that, after several years of successful Math Kangaroo individual competitions and many awards, Edgemont Elementary PTA Math Olympiad program will host the Math Kangaroo Team Competition with the convenience of Edgemont as a test center. The competition will take place on Tuesday, November 17th!
You can find additional information for the new team competition here. As in previous years, students from grades 1-6 are invited to participate in this event. Teams will consist of 2 to 4 students of the same grade PLUS a parent coach. It is a different format, so please make sure you familiarize yourself with the team competition rules and the team format.
Registration will be completed by the team parent coach. The fee is $15 per student and has to be paid on the competition website. Note that the contest rules say you can mix students of different grades for this test but at our center we are keeping it simple and ensuring teams are from the same grade.
Once you have your team ready, the parent coach should fill out one Registration Form for the team and soon they will be emailed the detailed information of how to register on the Math Kangaroo website along with registration code. We will provide some practice material as well. The regular registration deadline is Sep 15th, and the late registration deadline is Oct 15th, with a higher fee.
All participants will get a pencil, a souvenir and a certificate of participation. Excellence teams will receive certificates of excellence, and the top 3 teams will receive medals and certificates.
